Nahar’s Amrith Shakti residents dare to ‘Go Green’ by celebrating a Diwali without fire crackers

Nahar Group’s Flagship project Nahar’s Amrit Shakti, an award-winning integrated township located in Chandivali, Andheri (E) has taken a stand for a cause this Diwali, with a strong pledge against pollution and noise. Residents marched in the vicinity to voice out their choice and encourage all around to ‘Go Green’ this Diwali.

The #iPledge initiative is intended to generate awareness at the right time about the delicate state of our environment and encourage people, especially the younger generation, to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly manner.

Residents from all age groups, kids to elderly, marched with placards with messages on them and a self-illuminating tree in their hand.

The younger generation are the ones to be made aware of environmental pollution and health hazards due to extensive bursting of fire crackers and the Nahar campaign gives them an opportunity to become ambassadors of change to celebrate an eco-friendly and green Diwali, starting this year.

Manju Yagnik, Vice Chairperson of Nahar Group expresses, said, “While the celebratory spirit and excitement of Diwali is unmatched, it is imperative to celebrate responsibly, with least harm to the environment. We believe that change is an individual choice and as a group we need to stand together and bring the change. This forward thinking initiative is here to stay and only grow in scale, year on year.”

Every festival was created to make us pause and reflect, rediscover and express gratitude to the true spirit of the occasion being celebrated. What is more important is how consciously we choose to celebrate it. The initiative by Nahar Group – ‘iPledge Green Diwali’ is a promise towards greater good.
